Version 2.71 (2024/12/06)

+ Updated about and books

Version 2.7 (2024/12/02)

+ A page for the upcoming movie! Will do my best to keep it up to date.

Version 2.6.1 (2024/09/27)

+ Astrology
+ updated Glamorama timeline. it's really so crazy, isn't it
+ updated Goodies

Version 2.6 (2024/07/15)

Made Goodies a little nicer looking and "added" tags.

One day, (hopefully), there'll be a tag sorter for easier browsing. For now, use Ctrl + F. Lol

Version 2.5.2 (2024/06/21)

HTML has been adjusted slightly and the breadcrumbs are finally breadcrumb-looking.

2024/06/19: "life can be so beautiful and all it takes is changing the '1' in <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale="> to '0'" do not fucking do this

Version 2.5.1 (2024/06/08)

took a step back from the site and the blog for a bit but now i'm ?? back ?? i think i'm mostly here to put a wrap on things

i'm working on a summarization of my glamorama thoughts. don't know how long it'll take but woohoo yay

got better at htmling. wow i didn't know what i was doing at all back then but this also means i'll likely be redoing the rest of the site's code

closing note: a peek into my coding process. i think this barely counts as a wireframe but it sure is, a frame

(the icons are so far not visible because i haven't made them yet. whoops!)

Version 2.5

Changes:

this feels pretty surreal to me even though I'm The One Who Made It. it feels so much better to navigate through (thank you position: sticky)

Version 2.4

Changes:

very slowly realizing that i'm going to need to redo goodies and also the whole site's css. Fuck! 😊

Version 2.3.1

Changes:

Version 2.3

my forgetful ass could never keep a versioning system for something that doesn't even need it 😂 (saying this ironically)

Changes:

Version 2.2 (2024/2/3 - 2024/2/9)

REALEST UPDATE EVER.... after soo many logs of sighing about not knowing how to upload my thoughts WE FINALLY DID IT

Changes:

Things i have learned...

Version 2.1 (2023/12/3 - 2023/12/10)

going to start doing ranges of dates insted of just one day updates. should've done this sooner lol. also am i doing versioning right??? i'm not a developer

Changes:

Version 2.0 (2023/10/08)

Redid the whole website because i think this layout just makes more sense! I think it also fits the vibe of a Neocities website so bonus points for that too :D

Added stuff that makes the site more fun to come back to (my favorite so far are the randomized quotes on the home page)

Also added:

Version 1.0

2023/09/09

whenever i think of this site i get a little sad because i'm like, i don't know how to put What I Know on here. because they're all just little tidbits that are much more suited for social media. i don't have many things to say that can't be expressed in 2 sentences, honestly

but i realized i could just make a little tidbit page so that's done and over BUT

I'VE COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN so important because i've been taking it for granted. LUNAR PARK. dude. my main goal for this site should be to get people to be aware of lunar park's existence, the second to read it, (then the third to read glamorama 😔).

i mean first you have Patrick Bateman who's already so interesting on his own, but then you get lunar park and it's !!!!!!!! it's so cool what that book does for him as a character................

anyways. added:

it is funny as fuck to me that i started this whole thing as a big, big fan of Patrick Bateman. don't get me wrong he's still cool but it's no surprise that the Ellis character i have really been loving is Victor

that man just grows on you like a fungus. it's funny because oh i HATED this dude, the guy who ignored Lauren as she withered away. then i read Glamorama and okay i still hated him a little bit. i didn't get it at first. but on that second reread.... for some reason, it just hit.

and like that's cool and all but this is supposed to be a fucking site about...... american psycho!!!!!!! i had things to say about it and Patrick as a character but i'm not sure if i'll ever get to those because of some other guy. apparently

but you know i'll forgive myself because there exists so much analysis on Patrick american psycho and like close to none (exaggeration, they ARE out there) on Glamorama. maybe in like 5 years i'll finally have something really cool to say about Patrick, but until then ......

2023/07/04: The Rules of Attraction

ohhhhhh shit

i JUST finished a reread of RoA and so it's pretty much the perfect time to add to the website, while it's still fresh on the mind

this is the home front where things about it will be added hopefully. when i first started working on the website i came up with a general idea of what each book's section would look like. i wanted to make RoA a college website, based on its real life counterpart, Bennington College

but i looked at it again and was like, oh no, nevermind, nevermind, we're not doing that. i'm making it based on websites during the 90s even though the book takes place in 1985..... but the movie takes place in the early 2000s, so like ? Whatever

2023/04/24

moved things around ... but things are all the same. 😊

For the first time since the site has been up (a month), the "Last updated" indicator showed me that it has been a week since I've changed anything.

It actually made me really nervous. It really put into perspective how fast-paced we expect the world, our environment, our social platforms, to be. I don't even have the pressure of having a real follower count, but i was still thinking, "oh god the site is going to DIE or something. EVERYONE WILL LEAVE!!"

Which is just, so strange, in the context of a website. Basically what I'm telling you and myself is: I'm in this for the long haul and if I stop updating for a year I'm probably dead.

(Everything i just said is also probably very strange for what really is, just a Neocities website)

2023/04/02: Glamorama

Things have been quiet on the front while I'm working on building up the Glamorama side of things.

I just finished a reread so it's what I'm starting with first, while it's still fresh on my mind. All books will eventually have their own little parts of the site. 😁 Fun!

Just finished making the site “mobile friendly.”

This was done by separating the layout into columns and ensuring that whatever boxed elements you have on the page, add up to 100% width. Doing this will allow responsiveness and adjust to an element’s size to always be, as an example, 20% of the screen.

(Thank god for W3Schools. Here’s their tutorial for responsiveness.)

So everything is a bit bigger now (kind of makes me sad). And if you’re on mobile using portrait mode, you get the movie poster as a header (really need to adjust that).

The only issue is that the animation for hovering over the siderbar links is completely fucked, maybe because it has to go over multiple grids?? But the links in the body are completely fine and they are way longer than the ones in the sidebar. ☹

Oh well....... I think I’ll just ignore it.
